Change Speed
Change the playback speed of an overlay.
Slow Motion
Apply slow motion effect to an overlay.
Batch Speed Change
Apply a speed change to multiple overlays at once.
Move Overlay
Move an overlay to a new start position on the timeline without changing its duration. Pushes neighbors on the same row.
Extend Duration
Increase an overlay's duration by a delta. Pushes neighbors on the same row.
Shorten Duration
Shorten an overlay by removing a number of seconds/frames from the end. Use this when user says 'make shorter', 'reduce duration', 'shorten by X seconds'. Do NOT use trim_to_playhead for this — trim_to_playhead is only for cutting at the playhead position.
Trim to Playhead
Cut the overlay at the playhead position. ONLY use when user explicitly mentions 'playhead', 'current position', 'trim here', or 'cut here'. Do NOT use for 'make shorter' or 'reduce duration' — use make_shorter instead.
Split at Playhead
Split the selected overlay into two parts at the playhead position.
Delete Overlay
Delete an overlay from the timeline permanently.
Duplicate Overlay
Create an exact copy of an overlay on the timeline.
Seek Playhead
Jump/navigate the playhead to a specific frame. Does NOT move or shift any overlays — playhead navigation only.
Close Gaps
Close all gaps between overlays on the timeline, pulling clips together.
Move/Shift Timeline Forward
Move the timeline forward — shifts/pushes ALL overlays on every row that start at or after the playhead (or a specified frame) forward by the given number of frames. This is the command for moving overlays forward on the timeline.
Batch Commands
Execute multiple editor commands atomically as a single batch operation.
